Dano’s digital compositions date back to 2014 when he created a personal profile on Instagram with the purpose of creating and placing conceptual art.
“The creation of a digital composition begins with a simple photograph,” says Dano. “Instead of doing what most users of social networks do, defining their photograph as an untouchable absolute and publishing it as such, I import the captured photograph into the most basic photo manipulation application on my smartphone. Numerous layers of manipulation lead to the creation of an artistic composition which I send into the layer of instant culture as if the photo doesn’t demand anything more from the observer than a photo of a cat on a sunlit tree.”
In this exhibition Dano will present compositions of a larger format which are created with the purpose of immersion into the state of a child, naked, perfect as it is, unburdened by any conception of himself as a person and the ‘I am’ thought connected with it, before the existence limited by concepts of professionalism, regularity, excellence etc. Experienced personally by Dano through years of creativity.
